Delphi formerly also called Pytho, is famous as the ancient sanctuary that grew rich as the seat of Pythia, the oracle who was consulted about important decisions throughout the ancient classical world. The ancient Greeks considered the centre of the world to be in Delphi, marked by the stone monument known as the omphalos (navel).
The most important monuments that we will see are the Temple of Apollo, the Treasure and the Stoa of Athenians, the Altar of Chios, the Theater of the Sanctuary, the Stadium, the Kastalia Source, the Tholos, the Gymnasium, the Polygonal Wall etc. We will also visit the Archaeological Museum of the Sanctuary of Delphi, whose exhibits are mainly architectural sculptures, statues and miniature crafts from sacraments of the Sanctuary.
Arachova is a mountain town and has a panoramic view, uphill small houses and the cobbled streets show a pictures que architecture. The town center includes a huge and steep cliff, the Bell Tower,covered with dense ivy. At the top of the tower is a large 10m height clock. Arachova is famous for its black wine, its "brusque", the colorful textiles, carpets and rugs, handicrafts and woodcut creations as well. Near Arachova is the ski resort of Parnassos mountain, the most cosmopolitan winter resort in Greece and the largest in the country with the highest traffic. Hosios Loukas is an historic walled monastery situated near the town of Distomo, in Boeotia, Greece. It is one of the most important monuments of Middle Byzantine architecture and art, and has been listed on UNESCO's World Heritage Sites..
