Our tour will start witn the ancient city of Epidaurus and the Ancient Theater which is admired for its exceptional acoustics, which permit almost perfect intelligibility of unamplified spoken words from the proscenium or skēnē to all 14,000 spectators, regardless of their seating.
Then we will visit the ancient city of Mycenae in the area of Argolida. The archaeological sites of Mycenae and Tiryns are the imposing ruins of the two greatest cities of the Mycenaean civilization, which dominated the eastern Mediterranean world from the 15th to the 12th century B.C. and played a vital role in the development of classical Greek culture. Mycenae was the kingdom of the legendary king Agamemnon, ruler of the Greeks in the Trojan War. The ancient town was surrounded by gigantic walls, while the most famous spot is the Lion Gate, the entrance to the town with two female stone lions above.
Our last stop will be at Nafplion, one of the most beautiful towns in mainland Greece. A walk around the narrow paved streets of the Old Town is like a trip to the past. You can walk through the 999 stairs of Palamidi, a strong fortress with amazing view to the sea. At the entrance of the port, there is a small islet with a fortress that used to protect the town from naval attacks.
